Workshop: Collaboration, Co-Production and Community between Public History and Higher Education

The second workshop focussed on ‘Collaboration, Co-Production and Community between Public History and HE’.  We discussed some examples of best—and worst—practice. We had some critical things to say about institutional, organisational, and funding structures for public history. And we examined our relationships with GLAM sector and other heritage institutions in relations to student work experience and placements.  In order to allow everyone to speak frankly in this session, we elected not to record it. But we did have the wonderful folks Nifty Fox Creative come along and turn our discussion into these insightful graphics!

Session 1 – Reports from the field: some case studies of best and worst practice in collaboration

Session 2 – Institutional, organisational, and funding structures: limits and possibilities within and outside of UK HE

Session 3 – Working with students: placements, training needs, and best practices
